2nd Edition
The University of the Azores 3MT® is an academic competition for doctoral candidates, developed and patented by the University of Queensland (UQ). It challenges Ph.D. students to effectively communicate the significance and impact of their research to a non-specialist audience within a strict three-minute time limit, using only a single slide as a visual aid. This format promotes scientific communication to a non-specialist audience, encouraging participants' creativity and ability to synthesize information. In this way, it fosters scientific culture and interdisciplinarity, providing Ph.D. students with the opportunity for recognition both within and beyond academia, while also strengthening the dialogue between science and society.
